A Generative Workshop to Transform Your Organization

Appreciative Inquiry Workshop – Learn A Positive, Practical, Purposeful Tool for Sacred Conversation to Transform Your Life and Your Organization. This workshop can be offered to an organization or an association of a regional or sub-regional group to learn how to use the powerful process of Appreciative Inquiry to unleash a positive change in your life and your organization.


THE CASE FOR WORKSHOP:


New processes and systems for our lives and organizations cannot be learned and embodied in an afternoon workshop or a week-long conference. Lasting transformation must be guided, co-created, embraced, reflected upon and integrated over time.


Appreciative Inquiry is a positive, practical and purposeful process that closely matches spiritual teachings and new thought philosophy. Many ministers and nonprofit leaders desire to embrace the process but have not yet had the exposure to fully understand or the opportunity to utilize Appreciative Inquiry process in their church or organization.


Rev. Larry R. Wynn, Founder and Principal of Transforming Possibilities, has consulted successfully with churches and nonprofits using Appreciative Inquiry as the primary tool (see separate Client List). Larry successfully used Appreciative Inquiry in his own ministry and leadership at Unity on the Bay (Miami), Unity Institute and Unity School of Christianity. He has completed certification with the Corporation of Positive Change.


Through his consulting Larry is committed to using Appreciative Inquiry as a primary tool that can truly transform people and their organizations. The workshop will allow you the opportunity to learn and embrace this new technology for transforming your life and your organization.


THE DESIGN OF THE WORKSHOP:

The focus of the workshop will be more than learning; it will also be about doing and being Appreciative Inquiry. The workshop will provide the philosophy and basic practice of Appreciative Inquiry. In addition each participant will have the opportunity to cycle through a personal project utilizing Appreciative Inquiry in a real time experience of doing and being AI.


It is recommended that the workshop be designed as an eight–month experience. It would include four full–day workshops from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The first three workshops would begin the learning experience. The final and fourth workshop would be at the end of the eight–month experience. The interim months would allow all participants to implement their chosen Appreciative Inquiry project supported by monthly bridge line calls with fellow participants and Larry. The final workshop will be a refinement and celebration of Appreciative Inquiry in practice.


SESSION I

Consciousness and Philosophy of Appreciative Inquiry

Introduction to Discovery Phase — choosing an Affirmative Topic and crafting the Positive Questions for an Appreciative Interview Guide; how to envision and get an AI project started.

SESSION 2

Creativity and Imaginative Powers of Appreciative Inquiry


Introduction to Dream Phase — mapping and weaving the data from the Interviews, facilitating an Appreciative Inquiry Summit, making Intentional Strategic Choices, and creating ideas for allowing the dream to emerge.

SESSION 3

Collaborative and Connective Processes of Appreciative Inquiry


Introduction to Design Phase — crafting Provocative Propositions, co-creating options for your initiatives, developing plans in a collaborative effort, and learning how to create and write a good plan.

SESSION 4

Transforming and Sustaining your Organization through Appreciative Inquiry


Introduction to Destiny Phase — reviewing options for achievement of your plans, how to implement your plans, how to integrate plans into your organization’s operations, how to evaluate your plans and celebrate all the Appreciative Inquiry projects from your workshop’s participants.

Bridge Line Group Coaching Calls:


The workshop will also include four group coaching calls with fellow workshop participants with Larry R. Wynn, D. Min. Each phone call will provide a lesson on a key topic of Appreciative Inquiry and a round table discussion of questions and successes of the participants. Each call will be up to two hours.

Personal Coaching on Your Project:


Each participant will be encouraged to design and implement their personal Appreciative Inquiry project to review your Appreciative Inquiry project and Larry will provide personal feedback. Each participant will be provided two one-hour sessions of personal coaching.

Cost to be determined based on how the workshop is designed. It can either be accomplished within one organization or sponsored by an association or regional group.


Please Note: While the above description speaks to an eight month process for maximum success, the workshop can be condensed to levels of introduction that can be formatted to a day, a weekend, or a four-day workshop only.
